With Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s plea, the Akshay Kumar starrer movie Padman has been averted for its release, which will now be witnessed in the second week of the next month. So, the film has somehow averted the mega-clash with the film, hence have the fair chance to get an excellent collection without actually getting any competition heat from Padmavat. Yet the film is expected to face some amount of competition from the film Padmavat as it would be the biggest film of the year 2018 for obvious reason. The movie has already gained a good buzz in the media and is likely to have a prolonged effect over the box office.
Now, if you talk about Padman, unlike any other Akshay Kumar film, it has a decent amount of buzz in the media, which is going to replicate. But as per the experts and trade pundits, the film will perform in the similar fashion unlike any of his previous movies. Hence if you talk about the first-day collection for Padman, the film is expected to collect around 3-4 crore on day one and it will increase in the first weekend with the collection reaching around 20 crores. As the film Padmavat is likely to do better and extend its collection to the second and third weekend. Hence it will pose in a sense like a threat to Padman as well.
The lifetime collection for the film Padman is going to reach around 70 to 80 crore. Hence as said and claimed by the trade pundits, one may not expect the collection to exceed this amount for the reason that it will perform in the similar fashion. Though the film is inspired by a real story it is more of an educational film about mensuration hygiene that still remains a taboo to be discussed in a medium like films. Hence one cannot expect the film to go beyond and turn a blockbuster unlike Tiger Zinda Hai or even Padmavat.
