Manto - Official Trailer
Nawazuddin Siddiqui is back with another stunning and brilliant performance in his upcoming movie Manto. The film is based on the life of a controversial writer Saadat known who has been active in Pak rising issues on several burning issues like skiny business and feminist rights. He stories talked about some hidden issues that always kept under the carpet brushing them inside, while the writer raised these issues to remain controversial. He was convicted for the same, which has been discussed in the movie. For Cine lovers, who have like the idea of innovation in the film and have the interest in the niche movies, Manto is a perfect watch.

As the trailer released, it once again proved that Siddiqui has the knack and skills to perform any character understanding it very well and proving his dexterity high with every movie he does. The trailer released on I-Day gives the message that we stand for freedom of expression, which seems to be in trouble in the current Independent India despite celebrating the 72 years of our independence. Perhaps, we are again standing in a situation when raising a voice against a tyrant becomes a crime, when people have to prove their loyalty to the country despite the fact that their earlier generation has flaunt away the blood and sweat during the Independence Movement in the country.

The film also have Rishi Kapoor, Divya Dutta and Tahir Raj Bhasin in the lead roles while Siddiqui is playing Manto, we also see the lyricist Javed Akhtar in the role of a lawyer. Nandita Das is the director of the film, which speaks volumes about the film and its content. Needless to say that the film has been placed in the Un Certain Regard category at the popular film festival called Cannes Film Festival 2018. She is right in saying about the writer Manto as she claimed Manto always stood for freedom of expression that made him struggle in his life. He defied orthodoxy of all shades and never stood back despite getting slapped with six cases and he always believed in the power of the written words. One can find the conviction and the courage showed by the writer by Siddiqui while playing his character. In fact, the makers were right to define Siddiqui to be similar in his views, ideas, anger, sensitivity, arrogance and humor.
