Dinesh Vijan made his directorial debut with Sushant Singh Rajput starrer ‘Raabta’ and the filmmaker once again will work with the actress in his next. Dinesh Vijan will cast Kriti Sanon and Diljit Dosanjh in his next film titled ‘Arjun Patiala’ to be produced under his banner Maddock Films.
This film is said to be a character-driven comic caper that will see Kriti Sanon essaying the role of a journalist. Diljit Dosanjh will play a small-town guy with a quirky persona. The shooting of the film will be done in Punjab. It’s likely to start rolling in February 2018. Kriti was recently seen in the film ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ and shared the screen with Ayushman Khurana and Rajkummar Rao in it. Diljit Dosanjh was seen playing a key role in the movie ‘Udta Punjab’.
Speaking about this venture, the filmmaker Dinesh Vijan stated “The Hindi film audience has already experienced Diljit’s intensity, now it’s time to laugh with him. Kriti is moving from Bareilly to Patiala to deliver another small town surprise and this time she is holding a pen.” He further added “Maddock Films is a set of young, talented and creative minds who I am really excited to work with. I feel great connect and energy with the team Maddock as well as with Kriti.”
The lead lady Kriti Sanon said “I love watching good comedies and while shooting for ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’, I realised that I enjoyed being a part of this world too. I am really looking forward to start shoot for Arjun Patiala with Diljit who I feel is extremely talented and I am also thrilled to be back with the Maddock team”
Dinesh Vijan jhas earlier produced the movies like ‘Love Aaj Kal’, ‘Cocktail’, ‘Badlapur’ and recently, he produced the film ‘Hindi Medium’.
