Koel Purie is an actress in Bollywood. She is also anchor and host on various news shows. She had her own talk show in by the name On the Couch with Koel which was popular. She started her acting career in the year 2001 with the film Everybody says I am fine which was the directorial debut of actor Rahul Bose. She played the role of Nikki in the film. She has acted in many Bollywood and cross over films namely Life Main Kabhi Kabhi, the Lookalike, Mera Dil Leke Dekho, Mixed Doubles, Nazar, Road to Ladakh and White Noise, American Daylight and Rock On. She played key roles in many of he TV shows on Hindi channels.
Koel Purie is the daughter of Aroon Purie who is the founder and editor in chief of the India Today. Koel grew up in Delhi and Mumbai. She was exposed to the Media and film industry at a young age as her father is a media tycoon. Her interest in acting and drama kept her very active in the entertainment industry. She excelled as an actress in her school days. She pursued a professional course in the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London.
Koel started her acting career on Television. She acted in an innovative show on DD metro Aaj Ki Naari which was exceptional in it’s concept. Koel was highly impressive in the show. Later she made her movie debut with Everybody says I am Fine in 2001. From thereon she acted in many off beat films like American Daylight and Road to Ladakh. She was also associated to the television world. She stands out in her choice of films and shows as she has always worked in non commercial movies. She got lot of critical acclaim for the same.
