Kareena Kapoor Khan wiki
Born in the Kapoor family which has its three generations acting in films, Kareena Kapoor took to acting as an obvious choice of career. Kareena ‘s father and mother were actors and her elder sister, Karisma Kapoor is also a well known actress in Bollywood. Kareena entered films after dropping out of her law course in Mumbai. She is popularly known with her nick name Bebo. She was born on 21 September 1980.
Kareena declined the offer to debut with Hrithik Roshan with the film Kaho Na Pyar Hain. But she rather opted for Abhishekh Bachchan starrer Refugee which was JP Dutta’s film on the life on the border. It gave her ample opportunity to show her acting talent and she came across as naturally talented at acting. Later she associated herself with glamorous and commercial movies and established a star status for herself. She became a glam doll but for films like Khushi, Me Prem Ki Deewani Hoon and Mujhse Dosti Karoge she was criticized as an arm candy who could only looked good. She was accused of being a self obsessed and hysterical but failed actress. In fact with the failure of films like China Town and Bewafa she was totally written off as an actress. But she succeeded to sustain her fashionista status. Being the granddaughter of the Kapoor Khandaan, her personal life and affair with new comer Shahid Kapoor was always the talk of the town. In fact Kareena and Shahid were one of the first couples in Bollywood who accepted their relationship in public and made many public appearances together.
Kareena ‘s career took a turn when she played the role of a street courtesan in the film Chameli. Her performance was highly appreciated by one and all and it also brought her nominations and award. Later in Dev she gave a powerful performance of a riot victim. In Vishal Bharadwaj’s Omkaara she played the classical Desdemona for which she won best actress awards.
Not long after this she parted ways with long standing beau Shahid Kapoor to be in love with another actor Saif Ali Khan whom she later married. Shahid and Kareena’s much awaited film Jab We Met released the same year with the news of their break up. Kareena had turned on a new leaf now not only personally but personally. She received oodles of appreciation for her endearing character Geet in Jab We Met for which she also won many awards.
She played Saif’s girl in Tashan and Kurbaan. The couple was the talk of the town and was virtually followed by media at their every move. They were a star couple as they endorsed products like Head and Shoulders and Airtel together. In 2012, Kareena played Madhur Bhandarkar ‘s Heroine for which she became the highest paid actress in the industry. Time and again Kareena has established herself as a glam doll of Bollywood. Her fitness and fashion secrets are matters of great interest. She has co authored two books on dieting and healthy living.
