As the Aamir Khan and Big B starrer film Thugs Of Hindostan reached to its 22nd Day, it would be interesting to see how the film has performed both in the local and the global market. The film was released on the eve of Diwali wherein it made 40 Crores on the first day with the occupancy report reaching 70 per cent. The film than on the following days went on to go dull over the box office getting minimal figures at the box office and currently the film is struggling with the collection of 150 Crores at the box office. The film despite getting more than 5000 screens failed to gain the huge collection the makers were expecting.
The movie produced by bigtime banner Yash Raj Films, and directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya was also expected to do well over the overseas market. However, it failed to impress the audience. Despite getting a solo release, the film was unable to perform, and with the whopping budget of 350 Crores, the film failed to get the amount, which is eyed to gain at the box office. Both at the domestic and overseas circuit, the film has failed to impress the audience in a big way.
As per reports, the film in New Zealand had hit only four screens while in the Middle East and other countries, it failed to get much of the response with limited screens. The film scored not even one million at the box office at the overseas locations. They makers have plans to release the movie in Jan 2019 in China. It is believed to be country with Aamir’s fans, but with the low word of mouth buzz at most of the places, it would be doubtful to see whether the film would do well in this country or not. As of now, the makers seem to be in trouble for losing huge money in this film which ended up giving not even half of the money they have invested in the movie.
