Another MeToo impact as Aamir Khan shelves producing Gulshan Kumar biopic called ‘Mogul’

Mogul Gulshan Kumar Biopic

It was Aamir Khan was announced to make a film on Gulshan Kumar biopic known as Mugul in association with the music giant called T-Series. The film has been announced and it has also got the title, which is supposed to be directed by Subhash Kapoor who happens to be the Jolly LLB director. But as per the latest buzz, the Thugs of Hindostan actor has distanced himself from the project. As per reports, the reason of distancing from this project is the allegation on the film’s director Subhash Kapoor who tried to rape the actress Geetika Tyagi in the year 2012. The lady actor later even filed a cast against the director and later released a video slapping the man in the presence of his wife.

Later Kapoor was even arrested but was given bail. This was perhaps the basis why Aamir Khan and his wife Kiran Rao have left the film. Although the actor has not named anyone in the statement that he issued yesterday. The statement said that while he was hearing stories of metoo from different people, he came to know that someone from the upcoming movie is also accused of the act of sexual misconduct. The statement continued by saying that later when they inquired about the same, they found out that the legal motion is still taking place including the police and judiciary acting as well.

He then concluded in the statement that they are not inferring anything out of it, however, they are also not willing to work in a venture when someone is involved in such an act. He finally announced that he has stepped away from this movie. Aamir Khan was supposed to produce this film in association with T-Series. Also, we heard about some reports suggesting that Aamir Khan was really unhappy with the original script and screenplay, but later confirmed his involvement in it. But with this incident coming into picture, he has finally given up the project. His upcoming movie Thugs of Hindostan, is all set to hit the theatres on 8th November 2018.
