This man is often being confused with another similar name – Amitabh Bhattacharjee found in B town. Amitabh Bhattacharya is known for playback singing and giving a number of lyrics to Bollywood movies. He is shy and introvert kind of man, apart from being emotional fellow. He hails from Lucknow from a Bengali family. His father is a retired IAS officer, while his mother is a housewife. He always wanted to be a singer and thus was seen on stage when he was barely 10 years of age at various parties and wedding. However, his dream did not work out and lyrics came in his way, which worked in his favor to make him a leading lyricist.

With a dream to be a playback singer, he migrated to Mumbai in 2002, started searching out for any option to become a singer. After trying a number of music directors, he could only find few scratches and jingles for the movie songs. The lyrics simply came in his way and he then just took him seriously that later gave him recognition for even helping him bag the national award for the movie I Am for his lyrics. He got the chance to meet Amit Trivedi who had his own music band but was looking out for someone who can write lyrics for his forthcoming album. He just wrote, which worked for the album thus gave him the chance to enter into this world.

His first Bollywood movie for which he gave lyrics was Aamir, which soon followed a couple of movies including Acid Factory, 99, Dev D, Chance Pe Dance, Housefull, etc. His song Emotional Atyachar for the movie Dev D was a big hit giving him recognition in the B Town. Some of the big time movies, which had his lyrics include Go Goa Gone, Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, Lootera, Barfi, Dhoom 3, Shadi Ke Side Effects, 2 States, Ready, Delhi Belly, I AM, No One Killed Jessica, etc. After giving lyrics for more than 40 movies, he got the chance to try playback singing, his original dream to migrate to Mumbai. These include, 2 States, Chennai Express, Lootera, Agent Vinod, etc. The upcoming Karan Johar’s movie Bombay Velvet also has his lyrics.
