Based on the famous novel ‘2 States’ penned by Chetan Bhagat, 2 States is the story of a Tamil girl who falls in love with her classmate at Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. This classmate of hers happens to be a Punjabi Boy. This romantic comedy has been directed by Abhishek Verma. Jointly produced by Sajid Nadiadwala with Karan Johar, the movie sees Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt playing the lead roles. To be released on 18th April, 2014, the trailer of the movie is already receiving rave reviews. Arjun Kapoor plays Krish Malhotra while Alia Bhatt plays Ananya Swaminathan. The North finally falls in love with the South and they decide to tie the knots. However, drama ensues when their families meet and greet each other.
Families of the much in love couple belong to different states and hence, different cultures altogether. They find it very difficult to blend with each other. Not being able to come to terms with, the family members’ incompatibility influences the relationship of the couple. The movie will unfold a variety of emotions, antics and feelings. Ace fashion designer, Manish Malhotra has styled her look by designing dresses for her. The music of the movie has been well received. The soundtrack album is by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and was released on 7th March, 2014. Lyrics of the songs have been written by Amitabh Bhattarcharya.
